Arroz Con Leche was created by Claudia Milano, a native of Argentina. Claudia wanted to be a teacher since she was a little girl. In 2002, she graduated from the University of Delaware with a B.A. in Foreign Languages and Literature with concentration in Spanish Studies.
After graduation, she completed additional course work and obtained a teacher certification in ESL (English as a Second Language) at the same University. From 2003 to 2005, she worked in two public schools in Delaware (Warner and Claymont Elementary Schools) teaching ESL to Hispanic students from Kindergarten to 4th Grade. In 2005, she moved to New Jersey and worked as a Teacher Assistant in Highlands Elementary School, assisting Resource Room Teachers. In 2006, she received her New Jersey teaching certificate in Spanish. At the beginning of 2009, she started working in Salta! Jump into Spanish, where she taught the 4 year-old Preschool class. She was also responsible for developing the curriculum for the same class for the entire school year. She taught a Saturday class to a group of 6 year-olds and full time Summer Camp as well. She worked in Salta! until August 2010, when she moved to California. In addition to her formal education and teaching experience, she is raising two bilingual children.
She now lives in Moraga. She loves developing her own curriculum and creating exciting activities to have kids learn Spanish in a fun, friendly and nurturing environment. Her goal in every class is to keep every child engaged and practicing Spanish at all times. If this sounds what you are looking for, she would be honored to contribute to the education of your little ones.
Arroz is Arroz is Arroz
The name Arroz Con Leche is a tribute to her grandma Maria, a very special person for Claudia and an amazing cook, who made the yummiest rice pudding in the world.
